Underhand Lat Pulldown
The underhand lat pulldown is a pulldown with your palms facing you: the elbows travel along your sides and the biceps helps more.

Setup
Sit with your knees under the pads. Take the bar underhand at shoulder width. Chest up, slight lean back.
Execution
- Sit down, take the bar with an underhand grip narrower than shoulder-width — starting position.
- Exhale and pull the bar down to your chest, elbows tracking along your body.
- Inhale and let the bar rise back up slowly.
Common mistakes
- Grip too wide — underhand works best at shoulder width; wider strains the wrists.
- Pulling to your neck — bring the bar to your upper chest.
- Rocking your whole torso — small lean, your back and arms do the pulling.
- Not straightening your arms at the top — use the full range.
