Tonnage calculator
Enter your sets line by line — weight, reps and how many sets — and I'll add up everything you lifted in the workout.
How I count
Tonnage is the sum of weight × reps over all working sets. Three sets of 8 with 80 kg is 80 × 8 × 3 = 1920 kg. Past a tonne I show it in tonnes.
The comparison under the total uses the same list I use in the bot after a workout: a Saint Bernard, a motorcycle, a bear, a grand piano, a horse, a cow, a car, a delivery van, an elephant, an orca and a bus. I pick an object that fits between 2 and 40 times into your tonnage, so the number makes sense. In the diary every workout gets its own object; here you get the lightest one that fits.
Average weight is tonnage divided by all reps: it shows whether you worked heavier than last time even if you did more sets. Tonnage tracks volume, not strength — for strength look at your estimated max. Why volume matters at all is in the guide on sets per muscle per week.
Log your sets in the diary — I'll count the tonnage of every workout and show you whether it's going up.
