Reverse-Grip Bent-Over Row
The reverse-grip barbell row is a bent-over row with your palms facing forward: elbows travel closer to your body, with more lower lats and biceps.

Setup
Grip the bar underhand at shoulder width. Hinge to 30–45 degrees from the floor, back straight, knees soft. Row the bar to your lower belly.
Execution
- Hinge forward until your torso is almost parallel to the floor, holding the bar with an underhand grip, arms straight — starting position.
- Exhale and pull the bar to your stomach, squeezing your back.
- Inhale and lower it back down slowly.
Common mistakes
- Your torso rises with every rep — hold the angle.
- Rowing to your chest — with an underhand grip the bar goes to your belly.
- Rounding your back — keep it flat or lighten the bar.
- Wrists and biceps tire before your back — don't overload it.
